DECEMBER UPDATE!

Parma Animal Shelter Celebrates $10,000 Grant from Petco Love Supporting Veterinary Care for Cats and Dogs

Parma Animal Shelter is proud to announce the successful use of a generous $10,000 grant from Petco Love, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to saving pet lives. The grant was awarded earlier this year and has been fully utilized to cover veterinary bills for the cats and dogs in the shelter’s care.

This funding provided critical medical support, including spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, and urgent treatments for sick or injured animals. By easing the financial burden of veterinary expenses, the grant allowed Parma Animal Shelter to continue its mission of providing the highest quality care while preparing pets for adoption into loving homes.

“Every animal deserves a chance at health and happiness,” said Barb Heath, President of Parma Animal Shelter. “Thanks to Petco Love, we were able to provide lifesaving medical care to dozens of cats and dogs who might otherwise have faced uncertain futures. This grant directly translates into second chances and forever families.”

Parma Animal Shelter, operated entirely by volunteers, relies on community support and partnerships to sustain its work. The Petco Love grant underscores the power of collaboration in animal welfare, ensuring that pets in need receive compassionate care and the opportunity to thrive.

The shelter extends heartfelt gratitude to Petco Love and to the community members who continue to support its mission through donations, volunteering, and adoptions. Together, these efforts make a lasting difference in the lives of animals and the families who welcome them home.

Celebrating Our Community Impact This year promises to be busy and fulfilling. Your ongoing support helps us keep our guests safe in a loving home-away-from-home as they await their permanent families.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Champions We are deeply grateful to our supporters, the City of Parma, and our incredible volunteers. Your generosity enables us to provide shelter and care for strays, surrendered, and abandoned animals—many of whom require medical attention and foster care before they find their forever homes. A special thank you goes out to those who open their hearts and homes to foster animals on their journey to recovery.

ANIMAL SPOTLIGHT

Molly is a sweet kitty with a heart of gold. She might take some time to warm up but when she does, she`s all about the head rubs and will purr when you pet her and offer a kitty kiss. Molly is talkative and will let you know when she wants attention. She will offer you her paw and talk quietly to you. Molly is playful and will steal a toy or two from the cat adoption toy drawer and then play with it in the adoption room. She seems to be okay with kittens and might be okay with another cat or dog and should be fine with children. Molly will be the cat who will be there when you walk in the door and will be at your side while you read, watch a movie or clean. Fill out an application online. You will receive an email once the application has been approved.

ANIMAL SPOTLIGHT

Teresa is a sweet and affectionate female adult cat who loves giving gentle kitty kisses to show her love. She`s full of personality and charm and will even take a treat from your hand. Her favorite pastime is sipping fresh water straight from the faucet like the little queen she is. Whether she`s snuggling up for some affection or showing off her quirky habits, Teresa`s loving nature makes every day brighter. Teresa might be okay with another cat or dog and would be better with children 13 years or older. Fill out an application online. You will receive an email once the application has been approved.
