NOTICE!

Our shelter is experiencing extremely high demand, Because we are a small, volunteer‑run shelter, we may not have space available right away. We do maintain a waiting list, and we will do our best to help as soon as we can. Please submit a cat intake form!

Due to the volume of requests, it may take up to 72 hours for us to review your submission.

If you do not hear back from us within that time frame, we hope you understand that we are unable to assist at this time and encourage you to pursue other placement options immediately.

Important Intake Requirements

For the safety of our volunteers, we can only accept cats who are not feral.

During the intake evaluation, cats must be able to:

  • Be safely picked up
  • Be handled without aggression
  • Tolerate basic examination

Cats who cannot be handled or who display feral behavior cannot be accepted into our shelter environment..

While You Wait: Please Pursue Other Options

Because space is extremely limited across the region, we strongly encourage you to contact multiple organizations at the same time. Many shelters fill up quickly, and pursuing several avenues gives the cat or kittens the best chance of finding help. Please check out our Resources page for help contacting other cat-friendly shelters, rescues and animal control in your city.

Intake/Surrender Form: Cat Intake Form

Note: Before an owner surrender can be accepted or brought in, the Health and Welfare Chairperson must give authorization that the owner surrender can be brought in by appointment only. Dogs or Adult Cats with vet records require a $50 donation upon intake. Animals that are not spayed or neutered require a $100 donation upon intake.

If we are unable to take in your pet, we recommend visiting AdoptAPet

*If you surrender your pet to Parma Animal Shelter (PAS), you lose all rights to your unwanted pet. You will not be able to visit, receive updates, or have any decision-making power in the pet’s future care and arrangements. If PAS agrees to accept your pet into our shelter, you must complete an Owner Surrender Application that severs all ties between you and your unwanted pet.
