My name is Sylvia, and I wanted to give you an update on one of the puppies I adopted from your shelter. I adopted little Alton at the shelter’s Adopt-a-thon on July 29th, 2012. He was one of the puppies found at the house on West 54th. I had followed the story on the news closely, and I knew I was meant to adopt one of the little guys. I remember coming to the shelter in the morning of what became a really hot summer’s day. When I saw the puppies, I immediately knew Alton was the one. At two pounds, he was the tiniest puppy, and he set himself apart by separating himself from his siblings??_ almost like he was saying ‘Pick me!’ He has grown into the most wonderful dog. He’s 9 months old and weighs 7 lbs now! He spends his days playing with his best friend, a two-year-old Chihuahua named Monty. Everyone who meets Alton falls in love with him. He is the sweetest, happiest little dog. Thank you Parma Animal Shelter for taking care of him in the first few weeks of his life, and for helping take care of the animals who were in that terrible situation on West 54th. I am so grateful! Sophie (now Gabby) the cat’s happy ending story: Dear Parma Animal Shelter: Thank you for Sophie’s rabies tag. I must let you know what a sweetie she is. Yes, she still talks alot! She greets me when I come home. If I say ‘hi’ she answers me. She grumbles and is noisy, and even snores sometimes when she sits right next to me in the recliner. She comes to bed with me and hogs the bed! She loves people! My nephew Don loves her. She doesn’t like me to go out into the garage, she yells at the door. She eats good and poops good! She’s getting used to my house and is hunting spiders. I adore her! She is good company to me, and I really needed her. I now call her ‘Gabby.’ Thanks to you all! XOXO Sophie aka Gabby
