Alex Rodjom (nephew of PAS volunteer, Patty Mlady) of North Royalton soared and received his Eagle Scout Award Sunday afternoon. The Rodjom family beamed with pride of Alex after he received his award. Senator Tom Patton gave him a citation and North Royalton Mayor Robert Stefanik proclaimed May 1st to be Alex Rodjom Day for North Royalton. Last year, Alex renovated the Parma Animal Shelter publicity sign and trailer in front of the shelter as well as the trailer and doghouse for the Fourth of July parade as his Eagle Scout project. Lori Hilfer, membership chair and board of trustee at the Parma Animal Shelter, was his liaison for this project (photo) and attended this very prestigious ceremony and the candles and logos in the background represent the many traits exhibited and tasks completed by Alex to earn this special award. After the ceremony, Alex was presented a Parma Animal Shelter volunteer shirt by Lori Hilfer, membership chair and board of trustee, and Carol Rini, president of the board of trustees, as an expression of our appreciation for his time and dedication to help our shelter. The Rodjom family surprised us with a donation on top of all that Alex did for the shelter. We’re proud to have played a small role to help Alex earn this award. Congratulations to a fine young man!
