Madelynn
A letter from Madelyn:
Dear Friends at PAS,
I was found and brought into the Parma Animal Shelter In August of 2009. I was scared in my new surroundings and not too trusting of many people. Its hard to be such a small dog in such a big world. I was hungry and a little neglected when I first came in to PAS but there were a lot of really nice people who helped me adjust and fed me lots of yummy treats! YAY! It wasn't too long until I met a nice volunteer dog walker who took me home to live with her and her family and named me Madelyn. I have a brother now too, his name is Max. He's a Yorkie-Mix, just like me! We like to share the bed and take naps together all the time. We also play tug-of-war with socks we find under beds. Its lots of fun when we chase each-other with our toys. We love to dump out our toy-box on the living room floor and scatter them all around the house.
My mommy loves to give me all sorts of pretty accessories to wear on our walks. (I have a collar for every season!) I'm absolutely spoiled rotten and love to cuddle! I love going to the groomer so they can make me extra super pretty! I can never have enough attention. It took some time to get used to everyone, but I am right at home with my new family! I love to pose for the camera and get excited every time I see one, so I have lots of pictures of me! Thanks again to everyone from PAS for helping me find my forever home!
Love,
Madelyn

Donny and Marie
Hello Everyone at Parma Shelter,
We want to let everyone know that Donny, (Buddy) and Marie (Myway), are settling in quite nicely. They are wonderful animals,
and must be truly missed their previous parents. We are all having a great time adjusting to each other. They both have distinct
personalities, and are very gentle, and loving. They love to run and play with each other in the yard. We have taken them to all
the local Metroparks for walks everyday.
There was only a couple of "accidents" first two days but we atribute that to stress. They just started to eat a mixture of, 1 cup
Iams kibble with 1 can Iams, and a bag of Moist and Meaty this week. We had to mix up cooked chicken and Iams kibble for them last
week and then they were not eating that much; mostly the chicken. We are hoping to get them to eat mostly the Iams kibble in a while.
Buddy likes a plush star shape squeak toy we got for them. He will carry it outside with him and will guard it from Myway. He has
just started to play fetch with me, with his "baby." We gave them both soup bones from the butcher and they loved those. Buddy seems
to be chewing on the bones without any problems. They sleep together on some blankets we had from our other dog and sometimes on the
couch, we foud out one night, if we don't put the cushions down at night. They have free roam of the house and the yard;
they are very well house broken.
I've attached some pictures of them in the yard.
Thanks to all of you for saving them and your wonderful organization.
With deepest regards, Gregg Day and Louise Blaich- Day
Jasmine and O'Rielly

Me and my husband adopted Jasmine and everybodys favorite at the shelter " O'rielly".
They have been amazing cats. O'reilly loves to play fetch, he reminds me of a dog!
He also loves to lay in our sink. He loves to watch us eat and he loves to lay on us and
meow and he especially loves being brushed. He rolls over and purrs everytime we get the
brush out and he lets us do it for hours. Jasmine is a very playfull kitty. She has adapted
more to my husband and o'rielly more to me. Jasmine enjoys playing with toys and she loves
looking out the window and letting the breeze blow in on her. They are all around great cats
and they love eachother very much. They are always cuddlilng and licking eachothers faces
and sharing food very well. I'm very happy I picked these two!
Clyde
Clyde is spoiled rotten and is the king of his castle.
With the exception of the neighborhood tomcat
antagonizing him through the window, he is doing very
well. Thank you for the follow up -- I hope that many
animals have been adopted since my last visit!
~ Sincerely,
Anneliesa Melari
P.S. This is a picture of Clyde in HIS designer chair.
Phoebe
We have named our cat Phoebe now and she
is definitly loving it here. She is so spoiled and we absolutely love
her for it too. She is definitly healthy and eating and drinking tons.
We have experimented with her and differnt types of can foods and treats
but we have found she only likes the real stuff, tuna. Haha, we love
her!!
She has gone on trips with me too. I went down to visit my mom in South
Carolina and she was in heaven. I will be going down to live in my moms
house for the summer and will be back in aug and she will be going with
me for that too. I am sure if she knew shed be pretty excited.
Bill
Bill is doing very well, we just love him!!
Happy Holidays to all at your Shelter.

Ashes :: Adopted February 2004
Remember me? I was adopted by Eric Gustafson a year ago last February. I am so happy in my home. Eric takes good care of me and gives me plenty of love and affection and I just lay around all day, meet him at the door when he comes home from work. I see him in the driveway and I jump down from the window and meet him at the door so I can get my treats. LOL Happy Holidays and thank you so much for finding me a loving home to take care of me.
Love,
Ashes

Dear Parma Shelter,
This is Annette & Joseph Huffman. Proud Parents of Zelda who was adopted back in April/May of this year at your Spring
Adoptathon. Just wanted to send you some pictures of her and let you know she's doing Great!! She's enjoying her new home
greatly, and keeping her feline brothers under control (they know who the boss is, lol). Hope everyone at PAS has a Wonderful
Holiday season.

Mario :: Adopted Oct 2005
Mario has been rechristened Zeke. He spent about two weeks in isolation after showing some mild symptoms of an upper respiratory infection. He didn’t care much for spending time alone and was anxious to get out and explore the house. He met his older step brother Farley, who let out a light hiss when he first saw Zeke, and it’s been nothing but brotherly love since then. Zeke was grooming Farley within the first few hours and they spend nap time together. Zeke doesn’t care to spend much time napping, as he busies himself hunting bugs, chasing string, and enjoying life.
So far this adoption has been a great success. He’s extremely affectionate and spends a good deal of time on my lap.
I’m really sold on adopting cats who have been raised by people. My vet seconded that notion.
Thanks!

Butters :: Adopted 09.06.2005
Hi - Just thought we'd give you an update on how little Michael is doing. We adopted him on Tuesday, and I believe you were with us. We renamed him Butters (long story). He is doing fine here, playing a lot, and is full of energy! He only likes a little bit of cuddling, but that may change. Please let his foster mom know that he is doing really well here, and that he seems to be very happy with us. We just adore the little butterball!
Thanks!

Ellie :: Adopted 11.19.2004
Ellie was adopted as a puppy in November of 2004 and loves her new home. She has a big doggie sister named Katy who she loves to play with. Ellie is really smart and likes to learn new things like riding a skateboard and doing agility. We love her more than anything and are so glad she's a part of our little family.
Thanks!

Miranda
Hello Kathy and Parma Shelter Volunteers, Thank you for checking on our adopted kitty formerly known as Marie. She is now named Miranda and has been a delight. You can see she is a beauty and ended up with a brother who is also about 7 years old named Hobbes. They seem to be doing ok together aside from an occasional wrestling match. Miranda is purring on my lap as I type this e-mail. We adopted her in July, but it seems like she has been with us longer. She made herself right at home. Thank you to all the volunteers for your efforts.
Miranda with one of her many toys looking gorgeous as usual.

Sweet Pea
My name is Ashley Monda, I adopted Sweet Pea from the Parma shelter in April. I am pleased to report that she is doing great. We have grown very attached to each other. I have many stories to share.
Most cats don't like water but my little kitty will run down the hall in full sprint when she hears the water running and hop right in the shower.
She loves her carrier and will go take naps in it if I would leave it open for her. I thought vet visits would be difficult, luckily for me she hasn't associated the carrier with unpleasant trips.
Sweet Pea loves to look out "her" windows and watch the birds and airplanes fly by. She has found that the blinds are fun to play with too.
Curiosity gets her into mischief as it does for most cats. Everything I do, she has to do too. If only I could teach her to fold the laundry instead of jumping in the basket...or to put clothes away when she darts into the closets...or to dust the chandelier while she's hanging from it. The chandelier was a one time occurrence, luckily! Imagine my surprise! I didn't know I had a pet that was half cat half monkey. They don't even have those in the zoo! ha ha
Sweet Pea was recently spayed, and did great. She was happy to be home and did not leave my side the entire day. Almost as if she was saying "Don't take me back there I'll be good I promise!" I hope that she doesn't have to go back either! I'm not sure she understood that when I told her though, I guess I need to work on my felinesse. :O)
Thank you for checking in on her!

Benjamin
Benjamin and his brother Mason came to the shelter together. Upon arrival it was evident that Mason had a problem. He just wasn't gaining weight and was quite sickly. We tried everything the Veterinarian prescribed for poor Mason, nothing worked and now Benjamin was getting sick too! Mason was sent to stay with Dr. Hart. After a week of research and trial and error attempts at helping Mason, Dr. Hart suspected that Mason's problem was an intestinal infection. Mason's illness was a very rare occurrence in this area.. Despite best efforts, the solution to Mason's problem came too late and Mason could not be saved. However, Dr. Hart now had the knowledge to treat Benjamin and he got well. Today Benjamin is a healthy, friendly boy who loves his food!
C.A.T.
C.A.T. our calico was adopted from PAS a couple of years ago when she was a kitten. She is the best. Thank you for taking such good care of the animals and her. She was known as Princess before her adoption. Our boys named her C.A.T. They spell it to call her. She responds to me when I call her Little Girl. She and Cinder, our male adopted from a friend, is about seven. They get along marvelously. She likes a particular type of fishing pole toy. When it breaks, we have to get the same toy. I should buy a supply of them. She begs to play. She pushes doors open and likes fresh air. She lays on her back and thinks she is so cute. I'll keep saving my Tops receipts.
Emily
We adopted a beautiful Siamese cat named Lotus (nka Emily). She was so exotic and beautiful I couldn't take my eyes off of her. She was 7 years old but I knew she had a lot of good years left in her and wanted to give her a home to retire in. I already had a 1 1/2 year old cat, Ruby, but I just had the feeling they would be great friends. Ruby will tolerate any animal as long as they are willing to play or give her attention. Ruby and Emily did not like each other for a least a day then suddenly they were grooming each other. I am so thrilled that we could give another animal a nice warm home to do the things that animals do, sleep and eat. I have attached a picture of them on the chair together. They are like old friends.
Thanks so much for all that you did to make the adoption possible.
