Featured Cat :: Miracle and Sally

Parma Shelter Adoptable Cat

More About Sally...I am Miracle's daughter and am about 1.5 yrs old (as of 11/08). You may notice that we both have one green eye and one blue eye, which I think is lovely. I am definitely the shy one. I rely on my more outgoing mom for a sense of security. Once I get to know you, I enjoy being petted, but I will probably have a small adjustment period when I get a home. Please consider adopting us beautiful gals. We would love the chance to blossom under your loving care. UPDATE (3/09): Sally has really come out of her shell and seems to love being petted and snuggled, as long as she knows you. The family willing to give Sally and Miracle the chance to adjust to a new home will be rewarded doubly by these lovely ladies.

More About Miracle....My name is Miracle, which has a story to go with it. The lady who brought me to the shelter thought it was a Miracle that I survived several Cleveland winters outside! I had been roaming her neighborhood and she finally caught me and my litter of 3 kittens and brought us to the shelter. Even though I lived in the great outdoors, I was used to people from interacting with all of the neighbors. I am very friendly, and I share a cage with Sally, who is my daughter from last year's litter! Now that we are both fixed (and not contributing to the over-population problem), we are looking for homes of our own. We each have one green eye and one blue eye, which is very striking against our white coats! We have been through a lot together, and we would love it if we could stay together. Please come visit us at the shelter today! UPDATE (3/09): I have now been at the shelter for a year, and I am still waiting with Sally for the perfect home. Although still a little shy, we both enjoy the finer things in life--being petted, eating good food, and snuggling up together. To share in these activities with us, come to the shelter today! Miracle is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.

Will You Take Me Home?

Adjusting to a New Home

When you adopt a dog, please, give him time to get used to his surroundings and your family structure and routines. Time (at least 2 weeks) to get him used to your schedule and patience are essential elements to a successful adoption. We try to socialize our dogs with as many volunteers as possible but we cannot duplicate a home environment by any means.

Shelter Life

Life in a shelter is very stressful for animals and they need a period of adjustment once they come to your home. All of our "guests" deserve a chance to be part of a loving family.

We ask only that you give them a FAIR chance!

Questions and Answers

If you have questions about dog and puppy care see our Links pages!

Evaluating Dogs

We update information on temperament etc. as we learn about our guests. Remember our animals don't have AKC papers - they were strays so we are guessing at their breed!

Lost and Found!

Dogs found by animal control are kept for three days so their owners can find them. We will take applications in the meantime but please consider a dog who has been in the shelter longer "just in case". We have lots of good dogs who have been waiting a long time for a home. Please give them a chance to find a place in your heart.

We dedicate this poem to all the ones who didn't make it into the shelter because there was no room! Click here!
